    What’s coming in December

We at Projekt Karl have not gone into hibernation, even if the odd fat pad is undeniable due to the season.

The first ideas for new tours with you in 2025 are already in the works. Let us surprise you!

The Festive 500 will take place again from 24 December up to and including 31 December. However, if you are looking for a real challenge, you should not set yourself the Festive of the well-known cycling clothing brand as your goal, but the Gnu-Festive 500 (https://www.gnuseite.de/gnu-festive-500/). Here you don’t get anything, but have to give something: all kilometres must be (demonstrably) ridden outside and you only get the patch in return for a donation to a good cause.

A good opportunity to collect kilometres in the fresh air is offered to you on 28.12.24 by our gravel friends located in Worms at their Bridge 2 Bridge Unlimited between Worms and Mannheim: https://www.strava.com/clubs/528188/group_events/1288647.

Merry Christmas to you all from Projekt Karl and a Happy New Year 2025!

    Impressions from Projekt Karl 2024#4

A little reminder of our last ride of the year on Saturday 5 October 2024. What luck we had with the weather! After a rainy and relatively wet season, the sun was shining brightly today, making the forest and the landscape appear once again in all their splendour and beautiful glory.
This time we went through the Meulenwald, a huge nature reserve north of Trier, on the outer edge of the southern Eifel. A forest with an ancient history. The Romans built countless roads and paths through the forest here, from which we still benefit today. Today we were able to experience the forest in all its facets: sometimes light-flooded deciduous forests, past murmuring streams, romantic forester’s lodges along the way, then again mystical and darker, densely overgrown fir forests. Endless kilometres almost exclusively through the forest. That was an intense forest bath we took. Or Shinrin Yoku, as the Japanese call it.
A fun and cheerful group of riders turned up, who harmonised very well in the group. Many thanks to all participants for taking a dip in the forest together! Now it’s time for the winter break. Gather strength and ideas for the next season. See you next year and look forward to seeing you again! 😉
