In the midsummer, it’s time for us gravelers to head into the forest! That’s why we’ll be heading into the Hochwald forest on 19.07.25 with the second edition of the Karl Social Gravel Rides project for 2025.
Chief Scout Vera has once again worked out two wonderful routes for us.
We will start together at 10:00 am in Ruwer at the starting point of the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zepkexsTiiinoWHAA

The key data of the two routes:

Short: approx. 74km with 1300 metres in altitude (Track here: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2349571331)
Long: approx. 96km with 1800 metres in altitude (Track here: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2349572274)

Both routes will pass through the “Kleine Drohn” valley. Only the long route will make an extra loop via Thalfang, where there will also be ample opportunity for refreshments.
In addition, the long route leads via Rascheid to the “National Park View” tower with a vending machine with drinks and snacks.
We recommend that participants on the short route take sufficient supplies with them or alternatively make a detour via Reinsfeld for supplies.

If you are staying for dinner after the ride, please let us know by 15.07.25 via the contact form so that we can plan the number of seats: https://projekt-karl.de/index.php/contact/
We will reserve a table for 18:00 at https://www.bella-italia-ruwer.de/.

You can park in Ruwer in the free car park ‘An der Hüsterwiese’ – opposite the starting point.

We are already looking forward to 19 July and wish you good gravel under your tyres at all times!

    Impressions of Projekt Karl 2025#1

The start of the 2025 season was successful 🙂

The route of our first social ride for this year was a little different to what you are used to from us so far:
We travelled to Luxembourg and explored new trails there. At approx. 122km, the long distance was longer than
other tours so far, but we rode all the way to Luxembourg City and did some great sightseeing 😉
The route offers the finest gravel segments alternating with good rolling farm tracks. Beautiful trails in between delighted all participants.

Now it’s a bit of a wait until the next Projekt Karl Social Gravel Ride project. The second round will take place in summer on 19 July.
Let us surprise you – this much can be said: it will be another beautiful tour with a great route.

  • Projekt Karl 2025#1

Here we are again! Projekt-Karl is now entering its fourth year and our first Social Gravel Ride for 2025 will take place on 17 May 2025.
We start together at 9:00 am in Konz at the car park “Am Moselufer”: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bKtsbkbAu9SSsfxP6
There will be a long route of about 120km and 1800hm and this will take us through Luxembourg to the beautiful City of Luxembourg and back.
Alternatively, there will also be a shorter route of approx. 70km and 1000hm, which is based on the long route but has the turning point in Flaxweiler and then leads back.
The tracks will be published here one week before the start.

This time the long distance is a little longer than the previous routes, hence the earlier start. But you can look forward to a very special route:
we have scouted the most beautiful gravel segments for you and there is plenty of variety along the way. The ride through the Grund in Luxembourg City will be a sight-seeing highlight 😉

There will be plenty of places to eat and drink along the way: E.Leclerc in Munsbach, several petrol stations, Norma and vending machines in Temmels – and of course the gastro in the Grund.
, which we will certainly visit for a cake 😉

If you are travelling by car, you can park for free in the Konz car park “Am Moselufer”.

After the tour, we will stop for a bite to eat in Konz (from around 6 pm). If you would like to join us, please send us a short message using the contact form so that we can reserve a table: https://projekt-karl.de/en/contact-us/

    Look forward to 17th October!
We wish you good gravel under your tyres at all times and see you at the Projekt Karl Social Gravel Ride.
